Don’t forget to set a place for the hungry ghost…
This Chinese festival is full of superstition. It is believed that throughout the whole month the gates to the spirit world are open and extravagant family meals are held where a place is set for deceased family members.
Small offerings are left to the spirits and paper effigies of daily items such as money, cars, TVs etc are burned for the spirits to use in the afterlife.
