Artist Gesine Marwedel was born in Eckernförde, Germany in 1987. After graduating in 2005 she worked in an Indian orphanage for some months. The experiences she had there drove her to later pursue education as a physician. While in India Gesine learned the ancient art of painting with henna. For centuries Indians have been drawing on the body with henna. It was the introduction to this age-old artform that led Gesine to embark onto the awesome body painting she does today.
